While you probably realize that professional housecleaning is a great convenience and can save you time on cleaning, you may not fully appreciate just how many benefits it can offer to you and your family. Some of the benefits of a cleaning service are hidden for one reason or another.

For instance, the disinfecting benefits and mental benefits provided by a great housecleaning service, although invisible, can still have a big effect. Here are some of the invisible benefits you can incur when you hire cleaners.

1. Killing Germs

While bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens can be dangerous and threaten your health, they're also functionally invisible to the human eye. While you can visually detect dirt (or the lack thereof) on a surface, bacteria are another matter.

Cleaning services can help to reduce the spread of pathogens. For instance, disinfecting surfaces that commonly contain a lot of germs (such as kitchen countertops and the floor near the toilet) as well as items that frequently transmit germs (such as doorknobs and light switches) can keep these pathogens from harming your family.

2. Reducing Mental Load

No matter who you are, you probably have plenty of worries even before you throw cleaning into the mix. And if you're the go-to person in your home for all the household management tasks, you're probably sick of it because nobody has time or mental energy for all that work. Fortunately, a cleaning service can reduce the weight of your household worries.

By regularly taking chores off your hands, a great cleaning service can let you automatically check those boxes off your mental to-do list with no work on your part. The service can also give you peace of mind that your home won't devolve into a dump even if you don't spend mental attention on cleaning tasks every day.

3. Avoiding Arguments About Chores

If you and your partner or kids hate housekeeping chores such as cleaning, a mutually agreed-upon chore distribution may be difficult to establish and keep up. Things can get even pricklier if one person has a higher standard of cleanliness than another, or if relationships are already strained for another reason.

While professional cleaners can't actually solve relationship problems, they can help by removing the pressure of many house chores (which can be a major stressor even in married relationships). In addition to saving you time, this can also save you arguments and the resentment that can come with housecleaning duty friction.

4. Preventing Pest Problems

Contrary to popular opinion, your home doesn't have to be unsanitary to attract pests such as rodents and even roaches. In fact, some pests can live on tiny crumbs or splashes of food left in the sink strainer. So unless your home stays truly spick-and-span at all times, you're still at risk of pests.

Having a professional cleaner to clean the kitchen (rather than your unwilling teenager or spouse) can help ensure that nobody cuts corners in their cleaning duties. These services can ensure no cleaning duties fall by the wayside no matter how crazy your family's schedule gets. And professional cleaners can offer advice about avoiding pests as well.

These are just some of the hidden benefits that you can reap when you choose a great cleaning service to help you take control of your house cleaning activities. If the more obvious benefits (such as visibly clean floors and countertops) aren't enough for you, remember to factor in all of the invisible, mental, and otherwise hidden benefits as well.

Why and how to clean my washing machine Did you know that your washing machine can collect dirt and harbor bacteria and fungus? There is a thin film created by soap residue, minerals and chemicals from detergent. This can cause a clog in the inner workings of your machine, your water won't be as hot and the film also traps odors. The tiny crevices in the drum and gaskets can collect mildew and bacteria from your clothes. They can also harbor fungus. If you have a top loader here are some steps to follow when cleaning : Wipe interior seals around the door with all purpose cleaner Remove debris around filter or drain Use 1 cup of white vinegar with 1/2 cup baking soda then run a cycle on heat If you have a front loader here are some tips to follow when cleaning: Have a small bowl or towel ready to catch any excess water Remove the filter from the small door on the front panel of the machine Shake over trash can and rinse out. Use 1/2 cup baking soda and 3 cups white vinegar to scrub inside the drum and rubber gaskets You can use washing machine cleaner which can be purchased on line if you prefer Remove the fluids dispenser to clean each tray with disinfecting wipes Wipe out the area inside where the dispenser is located with the wipes If you have a "clean cycle" run the cycle, otherwise run the largest load setting on hot We hope this has been a quick and helpful guide for cleaning your washing machine . Remember, your washer should always smell fresh not like mildew.
